Den colombianske cykelprofil Nairo Quintana slap for alvorlige skader, da han fredag blev kørt ned.

Nairo Quintana blev fredag torpederet og kørt ned af en bil, mens den colombianske cykelprofil var ude på en træningsturen i hjemlandet.

Det skriver Quintanas arbejdsgiver, Arkea-Samsic-holdet, på Twitter.

Ifølge cyclingnews.com skete ulykken nær byen Motavita. Colombianeren er ifølge mediet sluppet for alvorlige skader og har ikke været på hospitalet.

Arkea-Samsic oplyser på Twitter ikke noget om eventuelle skader.

I et tweet fra bystyret i Motavita i forbindelse med ulykken kan man se Quintana sidde på en stol, i hvad der umiddelbart ligner god behold og i snak med byens borgmester.

Den 30-årige tidligere Giro d'Italia- og Vuelta a Espana-vinder skiftede inden 2020-sæsonen til det franske prokontinentalhold efter mange år hos det spanske storhold Movistar.

Inden coronapandemien satte en stopper for al professionel cykling i det tidlige forår, nåede Quintana at tage fem sejre inklusive en etapesejr i Paris-Nice.

Quintana er udset til at skulle køre Tour de France, der står til at starte i Nice 29. august.
