Med fundet af en ny planet er NASA kommet ét skridt tættere på at finde liv i rummet.

De har nemlig opdaget en ny planet, som forskere kalder en 'super-klode', og det er sandsynligt, at den indeholder vand. Det skriver Jyllands-Posten.

Super-kloden, hvis officielle navn er GJ 357 d, er fundet ved hjælp af NASAs Tess-sattelit, som er et rumteleskop, der er designet til at kunne finde exoplaneter, altså planeter, der befinder sig uden for vores solsystem.

»Det er spændende, fordi det her er menneskets første super-klode i nærheden, som kunne have liv. Ved hjælp af Tess er vores lille men mægtige mission nået langt,« siger Doktor Lisa Kaltenegger, som har ledt studiet.

Planeten menes at være cirka dobbelt så stor som jorden, og den ligger inden for den beboelige zone - altså i den rette afstand af dens stjerne til at kunne huse liv.

Samtidig vurderer Lisa Kaltenegger, at der er god mulighed for at finde flydende vand på planetens overflade.

Men man skal rejse længe for at nærme sig super-kloden. Den ligger nemlig 31 lysår fra jorden.

Til sammenligning er der cirka 8,3 lysminutter fra Jorden til Solen.
